Madiba will do well

Both growers and traders agree that it is a flower with unique characteristics. Dekker’s Madiba is doing well within the branch. In September 2005 the company has given its introduction an extra festive tint. At least 1,000 special Madiba bouquets, designed by florist Conny Klaver, were given away. Each bouquet was packaged in a specially created Madiba house style box. All the lorries were printed with Madiba and in addition, Dekker Chrysanten has had special Madiba covers designed. Even this Madiba website has been set up to provide as much information as possible to the growers, traders, florists and consumers about its unique characteristics and applications.

One species, several varieties
The real work takes of course place behind the screens. The first Madiba variety, the Madiba Lindi White, got company of other Madiba varieties. For an overview of the assortment  Madiba varieties click here. 

All Madiba varieties in the Netherlands are sold at the auctions in Aalsmeer and Naaldwijk.

Apart from that, the Madiba is not yet recognised by the VBN as a separate product group. However, that will change once the new species produces sufficient volume. Until that time, the Madiba will be accommodated with the Santinis’ for technical (auction) reasons.
